Happy Last Day!

I cannot even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed this class all year long.  I love each and everyone of my 2nd graders (now 3rd graders!!) and am going to miss them all so much!  Thank you, parents, for sharing your child with me.  I hope you have enjoyed watching them grow and learn this year as much as I have.

Please know that, although I am no longer your official teacher, I am always willing to help with anything you need.  Please brighten my day by stopping in and saying hello whenever you're around- I love hearing about your successes and seeing your face! I am so proud of the amazing work you all did this year and know that you will do great in 3rd grade.

Friday, June 10th

Today was our last really normal day of school (and our last Friday together!) We did some writing about Greenfield Village and shared with the class.  We also did more 3rd grade math (which the kids did great on :) )

Remember, the class picnic is Monday- no need to pack a lunch :) 
Send your child with a beach towel and sunscreen.  They may also wear a hat or sunglasses.

Half days Wed and Thurs- Report cards go home on Thursday!

THANK YOU to all the parents who came to the Greenfield Village trip today!! I got more volunteer than I would have ever imagined-- I know it meant a lot to your child to have you there with them today :)

Please bring the $2 for the class picnic tomorrow if you haven't- i want to do some shopping this weekend for food for the party so I would REALLY like to have all the money by tomorrow. Thanks!

Tuesday, June 7th

I AM LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME FOR MEATBALL!  I cannot take care of her over the summer and feel that it would be best for her to live in a home with a family who can give her a little more attention than I can (she is alone on the weekends and evenings here).  Please let me know if you or someone you know would like to keep her.  She comes with everything I have (cage, water bottle, food ball, ect.) She has been a great pet this year--very low maintence.

The kickball game is this afternoon--ask your child how it went :)

Remember, Greenfield Village is Thursday!! Send in a booster seat if your child is 7 years old. Thanks!

Monday, June 6th

Today was step-up day! Your child got to meet the third grade teachers and visit a third grade classroom :) I sure was different having the 1st graders in my room this afternoon--i forget how small the kids were when they came in this past fall!! it's crazy how much they have grown :)

I still need $2 for a LOT of kids' pizza! Send it asap. Thanks!
I also need people to bring coolers with ice to hold the water we are supplying.  If you are willing to bring a cooler with ice, let me know. Thanks!

Friday, June 3rd

Homework was collected today for the LAST time.  I m keeping the binders and orange folders so don't expect to see them again!  For those who did not send in your homework PLEAsE snd it in asap.  I want to get everything organized now so we dont have to be too busy collecting things in the last week of school :)

Also, an informational sheet about the picnic went home today.  It will be Monday the 13th at 11:30.  EVERY CHILD needs to send $2 for pizza.  I would like to have all the money collected by Thursday the 9th.  If you are planning to come to the picnic please send $2 for yourself to eat pizza as well (if you are planning to eat)  If you are bringing any siblings with you please send in $2 for that child as well. Thanks!

What a fun day- we went to the library in the morning and had field day in the afternoon!

Step-up Day

On Monday the 6th, the 2nd graders (as well as the rest of the students in the school) will be "stepping up" to visit thier new grade level for next year! My class will be going upstairs to visit Ms. Heugh's classroom from 12:35-12:55.  This will help the kids get aquainted with what it will be like to go UPSTAIRS next year and give them a chance to meet all the teachers :)
